WebJan 17, 2008 · On the 3FE the space between the metal crimp and the red stopper should be .5-1mm according to the FSM. When I adjusted mine and finally found the sweet spot it was more like 2mm so I would recomend setting it to 1mm and then using trial and error until it feels "right". 91 FJ80 - completely stock (for now) working on getting all the PM done WebMay 7, 2016 · Up near the throttle body, there are TWO cables in a bracket with nuts to adjust tension on both sides of the bracket. One is the accelerator cable. Unless I've been reading things wrong, the other is the "throttle" cable that has a red rubber "boot" on the end of the threads on the throttle body side of the bracket, and the "bead" on the cable.

It probably just needs to be adjusted Problem solved. The valve was fine, but you pointed me in the right direction. I disconnected the control cable and manually opened it to full position just to be sure.

It is a real pain trying to get the new little hose on the block and pipe, and secure the hose clamps, in such a tight space. The second time around, I decided to go with the bypass, and it was way easier. This time I didn't bruise my arms!

Check that it pulls out smoothly and returns back in smartly too.
